Sand

Coarse Sand

Coarse sand is a practical, low-cost sand suitable for filling and supporting. Grain sizes are fairly large but varied (0.5 - 1 mm), with grain shapes from round to oblong. The variety of grain sizes and shapes actually increases friction between grains, resulting in a sand that is less likely to shift or spill over time.

Fine Sand

Fine sand is visually appealing as well as pleasant to touch and hold. Small grain sizes (0.12 - 0.25 mm) and consistently round grain shapes make up its appeal. Fine sand is excellent for projects where beauty is key, from making smooth plaster to lining flowerbeds. North Carolina has some of the best white sands available, and at Green Acres Land Development we sort and sift the sand to provide the most beautiful sands to our customers.
